Max of Empires is a SRPG that takes the best elements from classics such as Fire Emblem and Age of Empires, and blends them together to create a unique package of tactical goodness.
In its core, Max of Empires focuses on local 2-player gameplay. Players will find themselves facing off against each other in a world with procedurally generated terrain that changes each play session. A system that assigns temperature, height and forestation ensures that the game map looks well-ordered, and the symmetrically of the map makes the game fair for both players.

The Goal:
At the start of the game, the two players start on opposite sides of the overworld. We’ll call this the ‘Economy Grid’. Each player has a capital, and the goal of the game is to capture the enemy capital by letting a part of your army stand on top of it for a few turns. In the Economy Grid, players can create groups of workers, which can build buildings like towns, mines or training grounds. Mines are needed to obtain gold. Gold is necessary to sustain towns and to mobilize an army.

It’s up to the players to tactically navigate their worker groups and armies through the Economy Grid and to face their armies off against each other. When two opposing armies collide, they will enter the ‘Battle Grid’. In this game state, players can move the soldiers in an army around individually and let them fight against enemy soldiers. Only one army can leave the battle alive, and it’s up to you to make sure it’s yours.
